Get in on the Action

Your team of four is about to embark on a virtual tour of central and northern Thailand. Our route will visit four schools where AWC Scholarship students study and will give you a glimpse into off-the-beaten path rural provinces that most tourists don’t reach.

You have 31 days to complete our 530km course. It’s a challenge but one we think you can achieve!

Prize Categories:

  • MOST DISTANCE OVERALL - Team who covers the most KM during the fundraiser

  • BEST SOCIAL MEDIA - Most creative use of social media to promote AWC March for the Future

  • LATE BLOOMERS - Team who increases their distance the most week over week for the whole month of March 

  • BEST PET PARTICIPATION - Team whose pets show most enthusiasm and most adorable photos

How does the fundraiser work?

How Do I submit my weekly distance totals?

TEAM LEADERS: Collect and submit your team's weekly KM totals and send an email to awcmarch4future@gmail.com

FORMAT: In the email subject include: Team Name, Total KM Distance and Week No.
Example: "Team Awesome - 120 KM - Week1"

 

Send totals for these time frames only: 

  • Week 1: March 1–8

  • Week 2: March 9–15

  • Week 3: March 16–22

  • Week 4: March 23–31

A reminder will be sent out the day before. 

 

How do I Calculate Steps or Distance for Activities? 

When possible, track distances using tools such as fitness apps, pedometers, or GPS watches. NOTE: All steps from your daily step-counter will count towards your totals. Please accurately track and report your distances each week so we can share updates on the total distances accumulated by each team and keep up with our leader board! 

 

Guidelines for activities: 

Walking 1 km = 1400 steps (10,000 steps = 6-8km)
Running 1km = 900-1100 steps (running is less steps due to increased stride length)
High-intensity activities:

  • Tennis: 1 hour = approximately 6-8 km;  

  • Exercise classes (e.g., aerobics, spin): 1 hour = approximately 5-7 km;  

  • Zumba: 1 hour = approximately 5-6 km 

Low/Medium-intensity activities:  Yoga: 1 hour = approximately 2-3 km
